I wish to gods that House was real. I could use a good diagnostician. "Gee, Dr. House, why the fuck am I bleeding in my lower GI tract?" "Gee, Dr. House, can you give me a reason why I'm feeling utterly shitty?" *sighs* Sadly, he's not real. If he were.... Well, that's another story entirely.

These guys exist. Insurance doesn't cover them.

WHAT insurance? ;) And, aside from that original response to you, I wish I could be smiling about that particular thing. Oh, hey, we're both awake! Good morning. :) My upstairs neighbor(s) woke up earlier than usual this morning, or at least jumped into his/her shower earlier than usual this morning. Which is kinda too bad - I'm still tired.

The closest I ever came to feeling like I was being taken care of by House was at Stanford, that time that I ended up down in Palo Alto, then passed out at the train station. Every time a doctor came into my room, s/he was trailed by four or five medical students. *They* were the ones that discovered that I had bleeding in my lower GI tract, though they never discovered a reason for it.

I'm still amazed they released you without finding the cause.

One thing I was going to tell you. I have another friend who is trying to deal with Antisocial Insecurity (as I like to call them) and he figured out that he had to go to their offices in person. Over the phone they won't do a damn thing.

So am I, to be honest. "Hey, you're bleeding from your duodenum all the way through to your colon. We don't know why - we took lots of biopsies, but they were inconclusive." Thanks, that's helpful, really. Take more than twice than you're supposed to doing the test, then tell me you don't know what's going on. That's great. (I'm just glad I was sedated during the test, if you get my drift. All I really remember about the endoscopy/colonoscopy was me saying, "Ow! That hurts!" a few times.)

Thanks for the advice, and the caring, Phil - you're a true friend. I just hope I give you as much as you give me. We desperately need to get together again for more than five minutes at a stretch. :) Don't get me wrong, it was wonderful of you to come by today, I just miss you.

Yeah, me too. Now that Erik has a job again I should have more free time soon, (when he actually starts working again.)

It's been great having him around, but it's made it harder to see friends. He wants to do stuff together, then I have the stuff I have to do, (like getting to the gym,) which leaves very little time for friends.

Things will be back to "normal" very soon.
